Criminal Use of a Firearm
If you have used a weapon while committing a Class C violent felony, you can be charged with Second-Degree Criminal Use of a Firearm. Similarly, you can be charged with First-Degree Criminal Use of a Firearm if it is believed you were in possession of/used a firearm while committing a Class B violent felony. Note here that the weapon does not need to be fired during the crime for these additional weapons charges to be filed.
